Veterans’ Day was originally established by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 as Armistice Day. It commemorated the armistice ending World War I, which took effect in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. In 1954, Congress changed the name of the holiday to Veterans’ Day, to honor all those who have served in our nation’s conflicts.
As a personal injury lawyer, I acknowledge the service of the many veterans over the years, who have made so many sacrifices to preserve our free way of life, including our system of justice.
